~~~~ATTIC CLUTTER~~~~
~~One Good Lesson I learned~~
Keep one fat notebook to jog down all you need to remember..that way you'll always know where to find it..all in one place like that~
I learned that while working at a darling Garden/Gift shop some years back..
The IVY COTTAGE
They did this and seem'd to work well..There was an outside garden with pretty plants and cement works ..birdbathes, water fountains, etc.. Inside the little used brick house were all kinds of pretty home and garden decor items .I just loved working there the two women who owned it retired and closed..
The Ivy Cottage looked similar to this but was a used brick home with a cement pillar'd front porch about 4 fat steps to walk up ..On the outside and back were the Cement stuff, statuaries, an lots of trellises, iron work items , stepping stones , planters and ofcourse real plants..(:) I think I have some pictures of the place on a floppy but ny new puter doesn't use floppies darn..
There were several windows and they looked like this from inside.. just darling.. they always had live plants in there like Jasmine and the smell was wonderful~~(:) Darling lamps and flower pots.
They just had really good taste..I also had the job of creating dry and silk flower arrangements that was so fun~!!(:)
Oh how funny.. I punched in IVY Cottage on the web an one came up (mine is long long gone)
here is the one I found similar but much bigger..(:)http://www.twocottages.com/index.php It's actually named IVY Cottage but the URL is ''two cottages'' hummmmm not sure why..
Some of the pictures on here are from this website~~They just reminded me of MY IVY COTTAGE (:)
Lots of iron work--planters etc~~
a fabulous wall full of metal ceiling tiles..I LOVE THIS~~
Well Thanks for taking the time to listen to me ramble on and on about my life..goodness it is sinfully self centered these blog things.. almost like a DIARY but much more fun (we have a voice -with pictures)..I will give you some attention too and stop in your place(:)
glad you came in... hugs Patty
Hi Patty, I was delighted you visited the Garden Party post today. And wowzer at all that wire work on your great post. Yes mam, I made that welcome sign. It's supposed to look like old crumbling plaster and pink faded roses. Congratulations on your perfect eBay stars. I think that's the first one I have seen. I only charge exact shipping and sometimes free shipping and I still don't have a perfect star on shipping & handling...go figure. :) ~ Lynn
ReplyDeleteHi Patty, Me again. The Roses welcome sign was made from spackling compound spread on a wood plaque. Then I put a glaze on it. The roses were made from a product called "Delight". It's an air dry modeling compound. I'm not sure it's even on the market anymore. As far as eBay goes...I have over 800 feedbacks with 100% and all perfect stars except for shipping and handling. There's a little corner of one of the points not covered in orange. I haven't sold on eBay in almost a year though.....not since opening up my boutique. LOL....Have a beautiful Sunday.
